twenty four

my uneventful yesterday; after watching the ever so cute 'where the wild things are' movie in my boyfriends lovely warm bed i decided to get out of the house and go down the street to see if a lovely dreamcatcher i have had my eye on was still there.
lucky for my bank account it wasn't, but i was pretty disappointed.
i then went on to look at other shops full of lovely things i shouldn't buy and ended up buying a cute long sleeved stripey top for $15 and the latest Yen magazine.
it was getting cold so i thought it was best to get home before dark and before i spent too much so, a few minutes and an orange juice later i was walking home listening to my ipod and daydreaming about living in all the wonderful houses in my neighbourhood.
when i got home i had a nap and was woken by my friends mum who was delivering me Gwen Stefani's <3 harajuku lovers fragrance 'Baby', she said that they were only getting rid of them at work and she knew someone who would love it and so she kept it for me.
my best friend and i then decided to get pad thai for dinner and after being locked out of her car for about half an hour and having to call my brother and his friends to come save us we finally got home.
a few sex and the city episodes later and lots of pad thai and ice cream i was finally in bed where almost every dream was about my favourites, angus and julia stone performing.
so today i am so very, very excited to be seeing them for the fourth time and cannot stop thinking about it.

twenty three

the last book i read was Ozzy Osbournes biography 'I am Ozzy' and i would like to thank my wonderful friend, Lucy, for telling me about it.
i don't care what anyone says, i may not agree with everything he has done but i think the man is great.
i had always loved the show 'The Osbournes' but now that i have read his biography and have more insight into his life before the show it is much more enjoyable.
he is honestly one of the most interesting people i've ever read about or watched on t.v.
i love how he has never cared what anybody thought about him and how honest and straightforward he is.
it is crazy how he is even still alive but i love that he is the first to admit he isn't sure either.
the way he talks about a lot of people in the book is really lovely, especially his children and mostly his wife, Sharon.
i think people are really quick to judge him but he really does seem like a wonderful human being and i'm really glad that i got to read his book and find all this out.

to see the beach in your dream, symbolizes the meeting between your two states of mind. the sand is symbolic of the rational and mental processes while the water signifies the irrational, unsteady, and emotional aspects of yourself. it is a place of transition between the physical/material and the spiritual.

twenty one

i am currently freaking out, i'm cooking a roast for dinner and due to being a vegetarian i seriously have no idea what i'm doing.
i'm trying to be a lovely girlfriend and cook a meaty meal for my meat-eating boyfriend but, i don't know when it's cooked or if i am doing it right and argh, i just don't want to waste my time and money and stuff it up.
i also want to impress him with my meat cooking skills, haha by proving that i'm not ignorant towards the meat-eating world and that it's my choice not to eat it but i can still make something delicious for him.
hopefully it'll work out and i am really looking forward to my yummy roast vegies and vegie snitzchels.

tomorrow i shall be travelling with my boyfriend, Jye to go to Bendigo for Groovin' the Moo festival which will be on Saturday.
we will be joined by our lovely friend Katherine who is staying with us and coming to the festival too.
i've never been to Bendigo before so i don't really know what to expect let alone what we can do there before Saturday.
i am however, very very excited about the festival. i cannot wait to see Tegan and Sara, Vampire Weekend and Empire of the Sun. i have been wanting to see Tegan and Sara for a long time now so it shall be great to finally see them.
Vampire Weekend should be so much fun and Empire of the Sun will definately put on an amazingly weird but good show.

sunset sounds festival

after expensive plane rides to the Gold Coast and terribly annoying train rides to Brisbane it felt like we would never get to Sunset Sounds festival but, when we finally did we weren't let down. the pictures would never give the festival justice 'cause the atmosphere and energy at the festival was better than any picture.
it was so different in comparison to most gigs and festivals i've been to. it was so chilled out and lovely, no body seemed to be in a bad mood and there wasn't any of that usual push and shove when watching a band/artist (the same went for the toilet, food and drink lines).
there were so many people dressed in such wonderful outfits (although, the pictures hardly show any of these people i'm talking about)and i couldn't stop smiling at how happy i was to be there.
with this amazing line-up; (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Moby, Grizzly Bear, The Temper Trap, Bertie Blackman, Dappled Cities, Little Red, Jamie T, Editors, Xavier Rudd, Sarah Blasko, Art Vs. Science, Lisa Mitchell, The Middle East, Oh Mercy, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Yves Klein Blue and many more) there were no disappointments and my only regret that i couldn't tear myself away from one bands set to go and watch another.

one of the main reasons i ended up going to sunset sounds was because it gave me a chance to go and stay in the Gold Coast with my aunty Broni and my little cousins, Jack and Chantelle, who i don't get to see very often.
although i had limited time to spend with them because of crappy flight times and having to spare an hour or two to get to Brisbane for the festival, it was so good to see them.
we went to the beach both mornings that i was there and whenever we would leave to start travelling to Brisbane for the festival Chantelle and Jack would beg me not to go and come up with cute ideas of how they could come too.
i wish i could of spent more time with them but my bank account and work commitments meant that it was time to go home.
hopefully the line-up is just as good if not better next year and i will have lots of money saved to go up there and do it all again.

sometimes i wouldn't mind running away and starting fresh, even if it's just for a little while?

eighteen

i want to dedicate this post to my amazing friend, Yasmin Duncan.
i know a blog post isn't much and it certainly doesn't help the sadness but i can't help but want to talk about her.

sometimes i think i'm trying too hard to remember things about her or i second guess memories with her and think my head is making them up but, there is one thing i know i will never forget and that is her smile.
it could honestly light up a room and i know people have said corny silly things about people like that and they probably don't even mean it but she really was something and that is what makes all this so unfair.

Yasmin, there aren't many people who i could have the same trust, respect and admiration for like i did for you..
i just hope that your laugh will continue to play in my head when i think about you and that it will never fade.

oh friend i really miss you
and i promise to love you always.

seventeen

although i may not have the most interesting blogs i have missed blogging and have decided i shall try and blog when i am at my parents.
my last post was the first day of the year and lots of wonderful and not so wonderful things have happened since then that i think i shall post about shortly to make up for the months i have not been blogging.
